Company: SmartRecruiters
Organizer: Lauren Berry, People Engagement Specialist
Company Size: 495
Challenge Size: 40
Duration: One Month
Challenge Type: Count. It — Classic Steps

Goal

We’re mostly remote — we have in person by choice, with offices in London, Paris, Krakow, and Berlin. I’m responsible for keeping our remote employees engaged, and helping to build our culture. I run our engagement survey, host ERGs and things like that. If it was in person, I’d be doing pot lucks and party kind of things!

This is our second year doing a wellness month in October, which is timed with World Mental Health day. In addition the Count. It challenge, we host a virtual yoga session, led by one of our employees, and meditation sessions. Also, we do different lunch and learns, and we rolled out our learning management system which includes wellness articles and other things.

The Challenge

I think it went pretty well! The new app was really easy and intuitive, and straightforward to go through. I loved the different emojis. I think it was really cool.

We had a total of 20 people who finished. Someone yesterday had 30K steps, which was the most steps in a day. Last week, on our wellness Slack channel, everyone was trying to chase her.

I got to see all the people in Europe, and all the steps they did. When I saw that, it made me want to do it!

One thing: I realized I have to tell people to open the app to sync.

We wanted more than 40 people. I posted the invite in our wellness channel, (or in our “Smartian Life” channle?) but people are not always checking Slack, or the right Slack channels.

The pricing is fair, and it was well-received by our Head of People. She was really down for it.

Roadmap Suggestions

We had 2–3 Garmin users, and they would love to have direct sync support.
It would be great to have some help on the invite side — perhaps a “hype video” that we could post in a Slack channel, and support for admin messaging would be great.

Editors Note: We DO have a decent overview video, which can be found here!
