Count. It hears daily from managers looking for ways to boost their teams’ health and morale. During the pandemic more than ever they see these efforts as strategic: “A healthy workforce is more productive,” is a typical comment from a recent call. Turns out this is a widespread and growing conviction: As of 2019, nearly 90% of employers with at least 200 employees that offer health benefits also offered some form of workplace wellness program. This is up from 70% in 2008.

The data around wellness program efficacy has been hotly debated, and is often dismissed by some in healthcare. Based on the sheer participation numbers, however, corporate America has long since spoken: Workplace wellness works.
